Tempo Storm Partners with Blockchain Company GamerToken

Esports is a pretty big actual money maker, but how about not-quite money like whatever the blockchain is supposed to be? That’s perhaps a frontier not many esports orgs are willing to explore, but a newly-announced GamerToken partnership with the North American esports team Tempo Storm looks to change that.

gamertoken partnership

Tempo Storm is the first esports partner for GamerToken, which seems like something of a natural progression for Tempo Storm founder and CEO Andrey “reynad” Yanyuk, who recently joined GamerToken as an advisor.

For those who don’t closely follow esports, Tempo Storm is one of the larger teams in North America. The squad from Tempo Storm currently sit at rank 9 in the world in HotS competition according to Gosu Gamers and teams from the org do battle in a number of other games such as CS:GO, Hearthstone and several fighting games.

What this means for fans of Tempo Storm is that they’ll be seeing team-affiliated Twitch streamers promoting supported games on the GamerToken Marketplace along with unique Tempo Storm-themed skins for a number of titles.

“With GamerToken, the esports genre is taking the next step towards other professional leagues, in which collecting or trading memorabilia items like basketball jerseys with fellow fans is already commonplace,” said Yanyuk in a statement.

Our Thoughts

Personally speaking, I’m not entirely sure how to mentally unpack this reveal, but it presumably will mean good things for those who are invested in one way or another to GamerToken’s blockchain and fans of the Tempo Storm esports squad. Ideally.
