The dungeon delves and candle-wearing creatures of the Kobolds and Catacombs launch is now available to Hearthstone players as of today. The new expansion has arrived with all of its features and cards along with a login promotion that hands players some free cards from the expansion.
Kobolds and Catacombs brings 135 new cards, the new Recruit keyword, Legendary Weapon cards for all of the game’s nine classes, and the new single-player Dungeon Run, a repeatable encounter that combines CCGs and roguelikes in its own unique package.
Hearthstone players who log in to the game after today’s launch will be automatically granted three card packs as well as a random Legendary Weapon card from the set. The new expansion is also arriving with an update that includes unique card backs, new reconnection and UI elements for Friendly Matches, and initial adjustments to Arena draft appearance rates.
All of the details and patch notes for the new release can be found on the Hearthstone website.
Our Thoughts
The Dungeon Run mode is definitely one of the more interesting features of this new expansion, particularly if it brings a nice level of reward for those who aren’t completely ready to take on human opponents yet. We hope Hearthstone players enjoy everything this expansion has to offer.
