Amazon MMORPG New World Preorders Open Now

New World preorders are available now on Steam. In fact, you can find it there but you can’t yet find it on Amazon which is a bit odd considering the MMORPG is being made by Amazon. Along with the preorder being available we have a bit of an idea of when the game will be launching. Or rather, we know that it will be on Steam in 2020 with a closed beta in April.

There had been some concern about New World’s future after the alpha was taken offline in May for a major revamp of its features. News on the game then went completely quiet and concerns that development on the game had quietly ended started to rise. It would seem those concerns were unfounded though.

It isn’t clear from the little information about the game on Steam what changes Amazon made to the game while it was offline. It’s likely we will have to wait until the beta has started to find that out. What we do know is that the game will use third party DRM.

There are two options for New World preorders, Deluxe and Standard. The standard version comes with closed beta access, Isabella’s Amulet, a unique title, the Fist Bump Emote, and a guild crest set. The Deluxe Edition has everything from the preorder plus: Woodsman Armor Skin, Woodsman Boarding Axe Skin, Mastiff House Pet, Rock/Paper/Scissors Emote, and a New World digital artbook.

Gwent iOS Available for Pre-Order Now

You would be forgiven for thinking Gwent was already available on iOS as most card games can be found on mobile, but in fact Gwent iOS is coming out late next month. The game is available for pre-order in the App Store now but it won’t actually be playable until October 29th. Gwent on iOS offers the full features available on the PC version of the game just reimagined for the touch interface. This also means that progress and purchases are shared between the iOS and PC versions of the game using your GOG account.

It will be playable on iPhone 6S or newer including iPhone 11, iPad Mini 4 and newer, iPad 5th generation and newer, iPad Air 2 and newer and all iPad Pro devices. The most powerful of those devices will be able to take advantage of Gwent’s 4K textures.

More information about the iOS version of Gwent will be shared this weekend during the Gwent Challenger master tournament event. The event can be watched this weekend starting at 4PM CEST on the 14th and 15th.

Gwent is already available on PC, Playstation 4, and Xbox One. The addition of an iOS app has started speculation on the possibility of an Android app as well or possibly even Nintendo Switch which seems to be the really popular platform to port games to at the moment. It would be pretty surprising if it came out for Switch before Android though so expect Android to be next.

Rapture Rejects Alpha is Now Running

If you’re a fan of Battle Royale games and have a wicked sense of humor you may want to look at the Rapture Rejects Alpha which is now running. To take part all you have to do is pre-order the game on Steam and you’re good to go! Alpha testing will take place every weekend from 12 PM PST on Friday to Monday at 10 AM PST.

The game was playable at Pax West this weekend where they also unveiled a new trailer that shows off character customization and more vomit than you could ever want or need. Oh and thrusting…so much thrusting.

Rapture Rejects

The alpha will continue every weekend going forward while they develop the game and build the community.

If you’ve not heard of Rapture Rejects before here’s a little run down for you. The rapture has come and you’ve been deemed unworthy. Your only option to get into Heaven is a battle to the death against the other rejects. In the end, only one person can be transported above in a bath of holy light. If that’s going to be you, you’re going to have to play dirty. The game takes place in the apocalyptic Cyanide & Happiness universe. Its an isometric top-down game that doesn’t use the Battle Royale title, instead saying it’s a last man standing game…which is just another way of saying Battle Royale. This game isn’t for the faint of heart or people who don’t like to laugh. We here at MMOGames can’t wait to give it a try!

Check out the trailer released at PAX West below. If you’re interested in taking part in the alpha currently running the only way is to buy in on Steam for $19.99. Its still early days for the game and there aren’t any reviews up on Steam for it yet. Will you be buying in to save your soul?

Pre-Orders of Battle for Azeroth Include Allied Race Unlocks

You read right, Azeroth devotees ready to slap Blizzard with their wallets without a passing thought: Battle for Azeroth pre-orders are going to be a thing (unsurprisingly) and they will confer upon you the ability to start the process of unlocking some of the expansion’s Allied Races (perhaps a bit more surprisingly).

Those who decide to buy into the next expansion for WoW will be granted a level 110 character token and the ability to begin the recruitment process for the Highmountain Tauren, Void Elves, Nightfallen Elves and Lightforged Draenei. Details and timing for the other Allied Race unlocks are yet to be revealed as of this writing.

The question of whether or not these unlocks are confirmed to be account-wide has been answered: Allied Race unlocks are confirmed account-wide according to today’s Q&A. Players will get to play from level 20 to 110 and earn unique Heritage Armor in the process as well.

Battle for Azeroth will offer a standard edition at $50 and a digital deluxe edition at $70 which will include in-game items for Warcraft, StarCraft II, Overwatch, Hearthstone and Heroes of the Storm. Overwatch has already shared a forum post detailing what Overwatch players will get, including Tracer emotes, Torbjorn voice lines, and several sprays and icons.

Ready to do that whole wallet slapping thing? Then you’re now welcome to do so if you choose.

Our Thoughts

And thus the hype train begins to pull out of the station. Between this and the Q&A session, we expect talk surrounding Battle for Azeroth to hit a fever pitch for the next few days or so. The question remains, then; which Allied Race are you going to unlock first?

Ashes of Creation Opens a Storefront

It’s said that passionate people wear their heart on their sleeve. Now, those who are passionate about the upcoming MMO Ashes of Creation can wear their fandom on a jacket. Or at least guarantee early access to the game. In either case, the Ashes of Creation store is ready to take your money.

ashes of creation store

The storefront currently offers four pre-order packs for the game itself, ranging in price from $75 to $500. As one expects, each tier of pre-order pack includes varying degrees of access to the game’s planned alpha and beta tests along with a variety of cosmetics for the game. Each pack also includes a different number of entries of your name for consideration to the still-undated Alpha Zero test.

If you’re the sort who prefers physical merch, the store also features hoodies, t-shirts, a mousepad, and hats such as the bright red “Make MMOs Great Again” hat. The storefront also has sections for pets, mounts, accessories, and buildings, though these sections currently have no stock.

While dates for testing are still not available, a press release shared by Massively Overpowered states that the pre-alpha/Alpha Zero test is “right around the corner”, with more alpha and beta test phases planned through the span of 2018.

Our Thoughts

While getting a more detailed report on when testing will kick off would have been nice, we have to assume that they’re near the point of starting testing soon. Or they’re just looking for more money. Depends on one’s point of view, really.
