As the trailer that’s come along for the ride states, “MMORPG and hack’n’slash made a baby in space”. That baby is the Wild Buster Steam early access launch, which is bringing its fast-paced MMOARPG action to the platform in its next phase of development.
Wild Buster offers up players the chance to take control of 12 different characters ranging from snipers to melee specialists to, of course, Serious Sam and Duke Nukem from their respective FPS titles.
Combat in Wild Buster is described as an affair that will require use of each hero’s unique skills and dodge rolling to avoid damage, while gameplay lets players take on enemies by themselves, in groups of 5, and in raid dungeons. There’s also a crafting system to maximize earned loot and a 5v5 PvP arena known as the Squad League.
Wild Buster: Heroes of Titan is offered on Steam in three different editions and is providing a 20% discount on the title in celebration of its early access release. You can find out more about the game on its website and check out the aforementioned trailer below.
Wild Buster certainly looks like its a fast-paced good time, but we’re also curious to learn whether there’s enough in the game that really sets it apart from other MMOARPGs beyond “we have Duke Nukem in our roster”. We’ll have to take a look at some point soon, but in the meantime we hope MMOARPG fans find something to enjoy in Wild Buster. And don’t forget, if you’d rather not spend money on the game, you can try your hand in our Deluxe Edition giveaway!
We’re back this week with a nicely cleaned up list! A few titles have been removed as their developers have gone silent and the websites are offline, while others launched under the radar. This new and improved list has 140 titles for you to enjoy.
New this week is Pocket Legends Adventures, a mobile MMORPG.
Pocket Legends Adventures
There’s also an untitled Tactical Shooter in the works by Automaton Games.
And the alpha of Wild Buster has started.
This weekend you’ll also be able to take part in the multiplayer beta for Star Wars Battlefront II. This is for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
Not a whole lot of new games at the moment but that’s ok, there are still plenty of things to do.
Check out the list below for all the games. The ones marked with a new flag are the ones that were newly added this week.
We’re starting off this week’s MMO Alpha and Beta list with a bit of sad news: Development on SkySaga has ended due to a license renewal issue. There is still hope for it in the future, but right now things aren’t looking good. So for that reason SkySaga has been removed from the list.
On the happier side of things we have several games which are getting ready for alpha and beta in the near future.
Dual Universe will be going into pre-alpha on September 30th.
On September 1st Dauntless will be going into Alpha.
Also sometime in September Closers will enter Alpha.
Wild Buster is eyeing Early Access in October
Moonlight Blade will be going into Closed Beta starting September 7th. This is a Korea only beta and you must register for it before September 3rd.
Lost Ark is also going to be having a Korea only closed beta beginning on August 25th.
As ever you can find all of this and more in the list below. Keep an eye out for the new flag to see what was newly added this week.
